Delhi Cabinet has approved a proposal of revenue department of seven new destinations for Mukhyamantri Tirath Yatra Yojana on Tuesday. The Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal added new destinations under the Tirath Yatra Yojna under which every year hundreds of elderly citizen visit religious places across the country.
According to Delhi Government, the new destinations are Delhi-Rameshwaram-Madurai-Delhi for eight days , Delhi Tirupati-Delhi for seven days, Delhi Dwarkadhish-Nagesgwar-Delhi for six days , Delhi-JagannathPuri-Konark- Bhubaneshwar-Delhi for seven days , Delhi-Shirdi-Shani Shinglapur-Delhi for five days and Delhi-Ujjain Onkareshwar-Delhi for six days have been added while the Cabinet is yet o decide to add Delhi - BodhGaya - Sarnath under the banner.
Clarifying about Ajmer - Pushkar and Haldi Ghati tourist destinations, Delhi government said that the Cabinets has decided that in the existing Ajmer - Pushkar tour, Haldi Ghati destination will be added. To give post journey comfort, Delhi government has arranged AC accommodation. “In addition to Three Tier AC Train, AC accommodation may also be provided wherever possible, “wherever yatris are required to be transported through buses, the same may be by 2X2 AC coaches wherever possible,” it said.
Notably, for the eligibility, apart from the area MLA, any of the Ministers in the Delhi Government and Chairman, Tirth Yatra Vikas Samiti, Delhi government, may issue such a certificate irrespective of the constituency in which the applicant resides.
