As many as 55 leading persons of Ganjam district who excelled in their respective domains were honoured with Ganjam Jyoti Samman here.
Voluntary organisation VORASA organised the felicitation ceremony (Ye Matira Puua Ye Matira Santan). The basic objective was to encourage and motivate them to contribute to society further, said VORAS A president advocate Dillip Pattnaik and secretary Durgamadhab Panigrahi.
State Planning Board Member Rama Chandra Panda hailed the efforts of VORASA.
While Vice Chancellor of Utkal Sanskruti Viswavidyalaya Prof Kamalakanta Mishra attended the ceremony as chief guest, litterateur Dillip Das, Er. Binod Chandra Padhi, Cornel DebaduttaPattnaik, Grasim Industries Unit chief Sasanka Sekhar Parikh, former Principal of MKCG Medical College and noted surgeon Prof (Dr) PC Sahu, known columnist Hayagriba Tripathy and Principal of Jagruti College Sanat Kumar Panda attended as guests.
Those who were felicitated include Krishna Reddy of Prince Dance Group, Asit Kumar Swain (Science), Prof KC Panda (education, research, journalism), Udayanath Mallick (body building), Radhesyam Tarai (Kuchipudi and Bharat Natyam), Govinda Chandra Das (education); Dillip Das (literature), Dr Prabhat Panigrahi (surgery), DAR Burman (freedom fighter) and Binod Padhi (engineering).
