A 50- year old man committed suicide by slitting his neck at Pungi Village under Mandar Police Station in Ranchi District.
Mandar Police Station Incharge, Rana Jungbahadur Singh informed that Jagdish Gope resident of Pungi Village under Mandar Police Station in Ranchi District committed suicide between intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday when the entire family was sleeping. “On Wednesday night Gope went to bed with his son Pratim Gope (age 17 year) outside his home. At midnight he woke up and went inside home for sleeping,” he added.
“When all the family members were sleeping, Jagdish Gope slit his neck with a sharp edged tool and then after some time he started crying due to pain. Hearing cries of his father Pratim woke up and gathered some other family members and neighbours. Pratim found that Jagdish was breathing then they admitted him into referral hospital but the doctors claimed him dead,” said Singh.
