38% new State Mins have criminal records

Eight Ministers (38%) out of 21 in the newly formed State Ministry have declared criminal cases against them. Seven Ministers (33%) have serious criminal cases against them, revealed a report by Association for Democratic Watch (ADR) and the Odisha Election Watch on Thursday.

The report said that out of the Ministers, 13 are crorepatis and the average assets of the 21 Ministers are Rs 7.34 crore. The Minister with the highest assets is Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with properties worth Rs 63.87 crore. He is followed by Naba Kishore Das with Rs 33. 63 crore and Pratap Jena with Rs 9.65 crore.  

Four Ministers have declared their educational qualifications to be between Classes-VIII and XII while 17 have a qualification of graduation or above.

 Eight Ministers have declared their age to be between 31 and 50 years while 13 have stated their age between 51 and 80 years.
