The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) president Diwakar Bhatt announced that the party’s biennial session will be held from July 24 to 25 in Haridwar. Announcing this, Bhatt also expressed concern about deterioration in the state in recent months, pointing at the disruption of the 108 emergency ambulance service and closure of government schools in the mountainous regions.
Addressing the media on Monday Diwakar Bhatt said, “The closure of 108 emergency service and increasing unemployment in the state is evidence that chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s government is failing miserably. The health department is directly under his control despite which the various government medical institutes in the state are suffering from problems related to medicines, doctors, equipment, drinking water and other aspects. The 108 emergency service is in crisis and on the other hand, the private ambulance operators are taking money from the people on their own terms which is exerting considerable pressure on the public. The disruption of the emergency ambulance service has directly affected nearly 717 families.”
Adding further he said, “The government merging five Gram Sabhas into one is another alarming issue. The budget which was first provided in five parts will be halved which will compromise the growth in the mountains. Migration and unemployment is not a new issue. The youth of the state are working on contract basis which is not only amounts to exploitation but also makes their future uncertain. It is because of the anti-people policies of the present government that there is an atmosphere like anarchy in the state. The government will soon face consequences of its policies,” Bhatt added.
