Bilkharai police have nabbed two accused of robbery who assaulted Ola cab driver and robbed device installed in the car, Rs 1200 and mobile phone of the driver on February 14; accused was tracked based on the information provided by the Ola Cab company.
According to the police, acting on a tip off accused were traced and detained and when he was asked details regarding the crime they confessed the robbery on February 14.
The two accused were identified as Milindra Biliya(20) and Archit Panday(20). Milindra is a resident of Sai Baba Nagar while Archit is a resident of Asha Niketan Arera Colony.
The victim driver Sitaram Raikwar was robbed and assaulted by two passengers who have booked the cab at around 8 pm and when the cab reached near Kokta number 4 at a secluded place the two accused throw chilli powder in victim’s eyes and hit him with a brick and later escaped with the valuables and car. The car was abandoned near Old MLA quarters Jawahar Chowk.
The cab which was targeted by the miscreants was bearing registration number MP04TB 0442. The victim reached police station and lodged a complaint against the miscreants.
Based on the complaint police started investigation and nabbed the accused. Police have recovered remaining money, purse and documents from the accused in the investigation. Police contacted Ola Cab company and obtained details of the accused who booked the vehicle and based on the details accused were nabbed in the investigation. The crime record of the two is under investigation.
