A total of 13 candidates filed nominations on Saturday for seven parliamentary seats where elections will be held in the third phase.
So far 15 candidates, including six for Durg parliamentary seat, filed nominations for these seats.
Chief electoral officer Subrat Sahoo said “On third day of nomination filing, for the first time nominations were filed in Raigarh, Janjgir, Bilaspur and Raipur. One nomination each was filed at Sarguja, Jnajgir, Bilaspur, Korba and Raipur while at Raigarh two and Durg three candidates filed nominations.”
The last date for filing nomination is April 4 and scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled on April 5. Candidates can withdraw from the race on April 8. The polling will be held on April 23.
