14 Chhattisgarh districts Left-wing extremism infested

Fourteen of the state’s 27 districts are affected by Left-wing extremism, Minister for Home Affairs Tamradhwaj Sahu informed the assembly on Wednesday.

In a written reply to a query from BJP legislator Ajay Chandrakar during question hour, the minister said the affected districts are: Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Bastar, Kondagaon, Kanker, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Balod, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Balrampur and Kabirdham.

In reply to another query from BSP legislator Indu Banjare, the minister said there are 442 police stations in the state. There are 645 sanctioned posts of Inspectors in the state, out of which 23 are vacant, he informed. Similarly, he informed, out of 1604 sanctioned posts of Sub Inspectors 520 are vacant and out of 1864 sanctioned posts of Assistant Sub Inspectors there are 311 posts lying vacant.
