The benefit of 10 percent reservation to the students of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) among castes would be extended in all the universities, Government and aided colleges of Uttarakhand. In an order directed to all Vice Chancellors (VC) of the Universities and Director College education, the Principal Secretary Anand Bardhan said that 10 percent of the seats in all institutes would kept reserved for EWS. He however added that the existing reservation status of SC, ST and OBC would remain unchanged and seats in these colleges would be increased for the 10 percent reservation of EWS students.
