A divided House has virtually left the Congress party’s star campaigner in an awkward situation. Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Dullo’s name appeared in the list of ‘star campaigner’ released by the All India Congress Committee in the evening, hours after party’s state unit campaign panel head Lal Singh asked the senior leader to step down.
After Dullo’s wife and former MLA Harbans Kaur, and his son Baldeep Singh, decided to give up “hand” to hold the “broom”, Congress’ prominent Dalit leader Dullo also declared that he would not campaign for the party in the ongoing parliamentary elections.
Lal Singh had asked Dullo to not only quit the Congress party, but also resign as Rajya Sabha member.
