The Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) celebrated its annual ‘Foundation Day’ on Wednesday.
RP Group Chairman Sanjiv Goenka attended as chief guest and shared his experience of managing the power utility business in CESC. He emphasised the essential role motivation plays in any team, how the sense of pride in one’s organisation can propel any employee to achieve success.
He mentioned how focused he has been on building customer services and customer relations which has led the business to become the most acknowledged customer-friendly utility.
The Chairman inspired the students by giving them a success mantra to live by, saying “Speak from the heart. Speak the truth. And you will be able to win the hearts of your customers.”
Nicco Engineering Services Limited, Kolkata Chairman Rajive Kaul described Goenka as, “a leader who inspires and builds confidence; with the highest integrity and as a person full of humility”. University Vice-Chancellor Dr Fr Antony R Uvari described Goenka as a visionary and fiery leader.
On the occasion, the Xavier University, Bhubaneswar conferred Honorary Doctorate, third honorary degree conferred by the university since its inception in 2013, in Business Management (BM) on Goenka. Besides, 28 faculties and staffs were felicitated for their long and meritorious service to the institute.
Among others, XIMB Board of Governors Chairman Fr George Fernandes and Dean Prof Shridhar Kumar Dash were present.
