This year statehood function to be inaugurated in the state capital on Friday will have a strong local flavour as state folk-artistes are going to perform their art instead of artistes from Bollywood.
Official sources, claiming the same, informed that final touches were already accorded for the function and the stage is all set for a grand gala function.
The function is to be held at sprawling 13 acres of land in the science college ground in Raipur, they added.
Congress President and Member of Parliament, Sonia Gandhi, will inaugurate the three day long function on Friday while State Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will chair the function on second and concluding third day respectively, sources said.
Stalls of 19 government departments showcasing their achievements will also be centre of attraction other than the cultural programmes in the evening, sources further informed.
Apart from government departments there will also be commercial pavilion that will accommodate 52 stalls including of cottage and village industries promoted by state industries department. Public sector enterprises have also been given space to display their achievement, sources added.
