Power Companies Chairman Shailendra Shukla said the power breakdown and shut down status in the state was 21 % lesser this year compared to last year.
The power lines, poles and systems damaged due to various reasons are being repaired/replaced in record time.
Shukla said the analysis of monthly reports of 11 KV and 33 KV feeders revealed that from January-May 2018 (5 months), the breakdown and shut down was just half as compared to January-May 2019.
In forest areas of Ambikapur, Balrampur, Pathalgaon, Surajpur, Manendragarh and Jashpur divisions, there were a total 52 breakdowns causing power cut for 165 hours in 2018. But in 2019, it was just 23 breakdowns and power supply was affected for just 73 hours in 33 KV feeders. The shutdown for maintenance last year was 32 times but this year it is only 24 times. Similarly in 11 KV feeders, this year it recorded 29% lesser breakdown and shutdown.
The chairman claimed in a report submitted to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and principal secretary energy that status of power transmission is better this year as compared to last year. Few unscrupulous elements are spreading rumours to malign the image of Power Company and the state government, he claimed.
