The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) here on Wednesday claimed that the third day of the ongoing High School Certificate (Matriculation) Examinations went off smoothly on the day without any hiccups.
But reports reaching here from Balangir district pointed out that the pictures of the Hindi question paper went viral on social media, particularly at Saintala in the district. The BSE authorities, however, refused to believe it and said some mischievous elements were spreading the rumours to create panic among the students.
Similar incidents had occurred on the previous two days of the examinations, for which 11 schoolteachers have been placed under suspension and five of them were arrested and forwarded to courts.
“No untoward incident was reported from any part of the State on Wednesday and the examinations ended smoothly everywhere,” BSE Secretary Ramesh Hazra said. When asked about the Balangir incident, he said some insiders are trying to blame the BSE and put the students in panic raking up such an issue every day.
