The State has got the first ranking under IS 10500-2012 under the standards check and standard limits in the examination of the standards set for water quality in laboratories by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
Principal Secretary Public Health Engineering Sanjay Kumar Shukla gave this information while reviewing the work done under the Water Quality Monitoring Programme of the Jal Sahayata Sangathan.
He told to bring public and social organisations forward in the work of checking water quality.
He said that this would increase the credibilty of the laboratories. Shukla congratulated the staff of water testing laboratories on this achievement. Principal Secretary Shukla directed the departmental technical staff to make fruitful efforts to bring all the laboratories under National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
He congratulated the laboratory of Ratlam district on obtaining accreditation. Shukla instructed Chief Engineer SS Sankule to make chemical, glassware and necessary equipment available in all laboratories on priority.The Principal Secretary was told that 10 districts have not met the target set in the case laboratory rankings on November 25, 2019. The Principal Secretary instructed the chemists of the laboratories to achieve the target within the stipulated time.
The Principal Secretary told the chemists and assistant chemists from 155 water testing laboratories working in the state that it is an important responsibility of the department to ensure supply of clean water to all.
For this, water quality should be checked from time to time by checking the water sources.
Engineer-in-Chief Advisor KK Songariya and Director VS Solanki, besides senior departmental officers were present on occasion.
