Wednesday, 31 July 2019 | PNS | Bhopal

Commenting over the Karnataka episode, senior BJP leader Uma Bharti here on Tuesday claimed that the BJP was not that greedy to expect its Government everywhere in the country.

Bharti was in Bhopal on Tuesday after she had returned from Ujjain after offering prayers to lord Mahakal during the auspicious month of shawan.

“Mujhe to lagta hai yahan koi sarkar hai hi nahin (I assume there is no government in Madhya Pradesh,” said the firebrand leader on MP’s current political scenario. This was a mandate where we got more vote share and they bagged more number of seats, she said.

“We never nurture the kind of greed that we should form government everywhere,” opined the sadhvi adding all they care is public interest and if isn’t taken care of, they would rise in protest. On being asked about BJP government in Uttarakhand setting up a distillery at holy town Devprayag, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that she has apprised Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivednra Rawat about her views in person.

“If we are in opposition, we talk privately and if we stand in opposition, we need to shout as they don’t listen to us,” claimed the union minister. She however fended off queries on what she personally thinks about the contentious project in the hilly state.

A sort of controversy tailed Bharti as she had entered sanctum sanctorum at Mahakal temple on Tuesday morning to seek blessings as the priests had objected to her attire which did not confirm to the tradition of the temple.
