nBJP working president JP Nadda on Tuesday presided over a meeting of party's core group of Jammu & Kashmir here at BJP headquarter. Meeting was attended, among others, by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, party's pointman in Jammu & Kashmir Ram Madhav and BJP state leaders.
Earlier, Madhav, who is the party's pointsman for Jammu and Kashmir, had urged the Election Commission to hold polls in the state this year.
According to senior BJP sources, the meeting is unlikely to discuss any of the Centre's steps in the State. Only the BJP's poll preparedness in the state could be discussed, they said.
The meeting has come in the backdrop of the Centre rushing paramilitary forces to the state fuelling random talk of the Modi-government launching major strategic move in context of Article 370 and Article 35-A, something central ministers have described as the National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party's propaganda to create fear among Kashmiris.
