Renowned social worker and Gandhian Anna Hazare — who has so far been crusading for the appointment of Lok Pal at the Centre and Loyakutas in various States — expanded his goal posts on Wednesday, as began an indefinite fast in his home village of Ralegan-Siddhi in Ahmednagar district of western Maharashtra.
After offering his prayers at the local Yadavbaba temple, Hazare started his indefinite fast on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi to demand among other things the immediate appointment of Lok Pal at the Centre and Lokayutkas in various states, one-and-half times Minimum Support Price for Agriculture Produce (MSP), total loan waiver for farmers, monthly pension of at least `5,000 to every farmer in the country.
Addressing his supporters after beginning his fast, Hazare slammed the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and for its failure to the Union Government's Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013.
