Anant Kumar Hegde calls Rahul Gandhi ‘hybrid specimen’

Union Skill Development Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde is once again in the news. He questioned Rahul Gandhi as to how he could claim to be a Brahmin when he is born to a Christian mother.  Addressing a BJP function at Sirsi in Karnataka on Wednesday, he questioned Rahul Gandhi’s parents and their origin. He said, “He (Rahul) does not know this country, he has not clue about religion. Look how they lie. A father who is Muslim, a mother Christian and the son is supposed to be Brahmin. How is that even possible?.”

“We can understand such issues but that empty headed man does not know or understand. You will not find such a hybrid specimen in any laboratory across the world.”, he added.

Ananth Kumar Hegde, who is known for his controversial statements has been attacking Muslims and the Congress recently attacked the Karnataka Congress President, Dinesh Gundu Rao for marrying a Muslim woman. Dinesh Gundu Rao’s wife Tabu Rao, who is a home maker, called his statement as hitting below the belt.  Speaking about the statement Tabu said, “This is not the first time that such statement has been made and it is embarrassing.”

He further added attacking Rahul Gandhi “You'll find such a specimen in the Congress laboratory in this country where the father and son are of two different types. Even if you lie, it should be in a way you can convince people. It just a matter of two or three months for them. There will be reports of mass suicides. Just two or three months more. They will all go into their homes. Rahul Gandhi will probably go to Columbia.”

Karnataka Congress has demanded the resignation of Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not sacking him from the ministry so far in a tweet.

Ananth Kumar Hegde, no stranger to controversy, had also made provocative statements like if a hand touches a Hindu woman, his hands would be cut off. Condemning the women who entered Sabrimala shrine, he said that if these women entered Kodagu, they would be buried there.
