The Delhi Police has arrested one accused allegedly a sharpshooter from the Gogi gang, involved in cases of murder, attempt to murder and possession of weapons.
The accused Rakesh Dahiya was arrested from Delhi's Burari area on Saturday. One country made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession, police revealed on Saturday.
According to police, the gang war between the Gogi and Tillu gang have led to the death of several gang members of both the gangs and this has them to recruit more shooters/members in the gangs. The accused Rakesh Dahiya (28) was allegedly recruited by Gogi's associates Mukesh and Himanshu.
"Information was received on Friday, regarding Rakesh Dahiya who was on his way to meet an associate near Burari Chowk, Delhi. Accordingly, a trap was laid and the accused Rakesh Dahiya was arrested. One country made pistol along with two live cartridges were recovered from his possession," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch, STARS & STF) Dr. G. Ram Gopal Naik stated.
"The accused came out of jail on 2017; he was lodged on an attempt to murder case in Bawana police station. Recently, one month back as per the directions of Jitender alias Gogi he along with other associates of the gang were planning to murder the associates of Sunil alias Tillu gang," Naik added.
