Police have arrested a youth for allegedly circulating his wife’s obscene photos on social media here. The accused was identified by Sitakant Mohapatra, a resident of Kapila Prasad in the city.
He was arrested on Saturday following a complaint lodged by his wife at the Airfield police station.
According to reports, Sitakant had married a girl of the Jatni area secretly in the court in the year 2015 without knowledge of his family members. A few days after their marriage, he moved to Hyderabad in search of a job. When he did not return home for a long time, his wife visited his house and informed his family about their marriage.
However, the family of Sitakant allegedly scolded girl. When she informed about it to Sitakant, he also abused her and told her to move away from his life.
Some days later, Sitakant allegedly circulated photos featuring private moments of the girl with him on social media and made them viral to defame her in the society.
The woman lodged the complaint with police against him after she came to know about her viral photos on social media.
