A youth sustained critical injuries after a mobile phone battery exploded on Thursday while he was charging his cell phone.
The incident took place at Dangsanadihi village under the Kuchinda police station in the district.
The blast occurred when the youth was charging the mobile battery in his home.
The victim was identified as Dusmant Kharsel. According to sources, Kharsel was initially rushed to Kuchinda sub-divisional hospital and later shifted to Burla hospital where doctors stated his health condition to be critical.Of late, there have been number of incidents of mobile phone battery blasts in the State. Experts opined that people should use the chargers and batteries of reputed companies and should ensure that the phone is charged at a proper place away from heat sources to prevent the mobile phone batteries from exploiting.
