Woman Maoist arrested

A woman Maoist alleged by security forces to be a member of the vanquished dasta of Rakesh Bhuiyan has been arrested at Baseydeeh village not far from the site of Monday encounter at Malanga Pahar.

Commandant of 134 battalion of CRPF S K linda said the arrested woman cadre has been identified as Gita Kumari.

linda said this woman was in the Rakesh Bhuiyan dasta and as Rakesh fell to bullets she ran away with other fleeing Maoists Vimal and Dipak who crossed over the East of Malanga pahar but she preferred to stay put in village Baseydeeh.

This is the first arrest after the Monday encounter with security forces at Malanga Pahar.

Sources said the Maoists had under their captivity three woman Ruby, Rinky and this Gita.

The first two died in the encounter while Gita was caught on Tuesday.

Sources said she was taken down to areas falling in the contiguity of the encounter site but nothing more could come out of this.

Sources said the three girls are all under 18 years of age whom the Maoists had forcibly snatched from their parents and now with the death of two in encounter parents would be up and fighting if Maoists knock at their houses for minor to join them.

Gita was caught in saree but she had her black cloth in her bag added one other security official.
