A person and his associates allegedly crushed a woman to death with a pestle in front of her daughter at Talasitha village under the Dhamnagar police limits in Bhadrak district late on Sunday night.
According to reports, one Babua Mohanty of the village and his aides entered into the house of Rabindra Behuria while he had gone to nearby Barikapur for work. They tied Rabindra’s daughter and murdered his wife Bhaktilata by crushing her with a pestle.
On the other hand, Rabindra went missing after the tragic incident. It was suspected that he was kidnapped by Babua and his associates.
The incident was a fallout of past enmity, sources said. Police started investigation into the incident by questioning Rabindra’s daughter who is the witness to the killing of her mother.
