During an inspection of Kankhal police station on Friday, SSP Krishna Kumar V K said that if someone was found encroaching roads case must be registered against him immediately. Eight major accidents were reported under the jurisdiction of Kankhal police station so far this year, said the police. Suggestions from local people and traders were sought over traffic plan during Kanwad Mela slated to begin next month.
While interacting with the traders, the SSP asked them about the major problems confronting them during the fairs. A trader Padyuman Agarwal said that no entry being allowed at Shankaracharya Chowk during the fairs and fests, it caused major problem to the local traders to commute to their shops. Another Kankhal resident demanded a ban on the two-wheeler riders who ride without silencers on bikes creating noise pollution.
SSP Krishna Kumar V K assured the traders that appropriate arrangements would be made for the local traders to help them move with passes during the Kanwad Mela.
