War-veteran couple to donate body for medical study

War-veteran of Indian Army Bhagbali Joshi and his wife Durpat Bai, resident of BRP Colony, Maroda, Bhilai, have pledged to donate their body for medical study on death.

Generally, the medical colleges all over the country are facing shortage of human body for medical studies. Many organizations have been motivating the people to donate their body after death. Setting such an example for all, 78 year-old Bhagbali Joshi and his wife Durpat Bai, have written a will to donate their body for medical studies. On the occasion, social organization based in Bhilai ‘Pranam’ office bearers felicitated the elderly couple after their declaration.

Bhagbali Joshi, had retired as Subedar from India Army. He had been part of the contingent in 1962 War with China and, 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan. For his contribution to the country, President of India had handed over him citation.
