The Vyasanagar Municipality organised an awareness meeting here to seek people’s support in making the town open defecation-free (ODF) soon.
Presiding over the meeting, Jajpur Sub-Collector Narayan Chandra Dhal said the Vyasanagar has already been listed in the ODF-making list prepared by the State Government and urged denizens to extend required support.
MLA Korai Akas Das Nayak and Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das thanked the State Government for considering to make the city open defecation-free.
The guests also felicitated volunteers Bidyutprava Ray of Ward No 2 and Sujata Parida of Ward No 23 on the occasion.
Among others, Kalinganagar ADM Santosh Kumar Mishra, Municipality former Officer Mohan Charan Jena, Sanitary Expert Debasis Baral, Head Clerk Kishori Rout, senior staff Rudra Narayan Mukhi, Ajay Panda, Gourang Mahalik and Uday Barik were present.
A massive awareness rally was conducted from the municipality office to the Vyasadev Town Hall in which more 1,000 women, including SHG members, participated.
