Vedanta Hosp holds cataract surgery camp

In its bid to provide better health services in and around Lanjigarh, the Vedanta Hospital in association with Punaruthan Voluntary Organisation (PVO) and Lepra Mahanadi Eye Hospital, Sonepur organised second free cataract surgery screening camp here on Thursday.

Vedanta Lanjigarh COO Rakesh Mohan and Technical director Phillip Campbell flagged off the campaign in presence of Chief Safety Officer Grant Durling, Chief Community Development Officer Harmeet Sehra, Chief Medical Officer Dr Akshaya Kumar Sahoo and Dr Saroj Kanta Mishra and Dr Debendra Narayan Sahu from Lepra.

As many as 35 patients were treated from nearby villages of Bandhapari, Batelima, Belamba, Bhataguda, Boringpadar, Chanalima, Chhatrapur, Harekrushnapur, Kutendeli, Lanjigarh, Leptaguda, Mushanal and Raghunathpur and were provided blankets.

Notably, over 320 patients have already been treated in earlier phases of cataract surgery campaigns organised by the company.
