The Uttarakhand Gramin Bank (UGB) held a tree plantation programme at lakshman Vidhyalay inter college, Pathirbagh here to raise public awareness on environmental conservation. The bank’s chairman Sanjay Agrawal and other officials planted saplings on the campus to mark the occasion. Agrawal stressed on the importance of environmental conservation for the whole world in the present times. Considering the importance of trees in this, the bank had organised tree plantation in all the 13 districts of the state through its 286 branches and four regional offices. As part of this initiative, more than 2,300 saplings had been planted in different parts of the state so far, he said. The principal of the lakshman Vidhyalay inter college, Ramprasad Gairola and other staff members of the institution were also among those present on the occasion.
