An undertrial prisoner of District Jail, Dhamtari, died after sudden deterioration of his health on Wednesday.
He breathed his last just after a few minutes after he was rushed to the district hospital.
Superintendent, District Jail, Dhamtari, S.R. Thakur informed that the deceased Hemant Thakur was a native of Borgahan under Arjunda Police Station Area in Balod. He was detained in jail on theft case, he said.
He said the cause of the death of the undertrial would be known only after his post-mortem report arrives.
According to information, the deceased was to register his presence in the court on Wednesday but he complained of not feeling well to the Jail staff in the morning. Suddenly his condition deteriorated and he started vomiting. Immediately the undertrial was rushed to District Hospital where during medical examination the doctors found his condition to be critical. He breathed his last only a few minutes later.
