Proximity to National Capital Region (NCR), better law and order situation, availability of power, investor friendly system and availability of skilled manpower together make Uttarakhand a favourable investment destination, said chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while interacting with the members of business community in New Delhi on Thursday.
To showcase the potential of Uttarakhand, a road show was organised in New Delhi on the day ahead of ‘Destination Uttarakhand- Investors Summit’ slated in October.
Speaking on the occasion, Rawat said that apart from better industrial environment and human resources in Uttarakhand, the peaceful and cooperative attitude of the people of the state makes it different from other states. He further said that works on Char Dham Road project and Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail link in the state are in progress.
He said that the state has a unique blend of infrastructure, availability of natural resources and entrepreneurial thinking among the youth.
“Under the Ease of Doing Business initiative in the state, a single window system has been started. Besides, ‘One Stop Shop’ system has been introduced to help people procure licenses and approvals required for setting up and operations of the business sans hassle, ’’ he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the state finance minister Prakash Pant said that despite the state having 70 percent forest cover, there is a better option for entrepreneurship in Uttarakhand.
Cabinet minister Madan Kaushik said that the state government is making efforts to provide all possible assistance for industrial houses to invest in Uttarakhand.
Tourism and culture minister Satpal Maharaj said that the state government wants to develop the infrastructure which would bring tourists from foreign countries to Uttarakhand during the winter season.
