The Utkal Sammilani, which was in the forefront of the movement for creation of a separate State of Odia-speaking people, observed its 115th foundation day with its members garlanding the statues of its founder Utkalgaurav Madhusudan Das and first president Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo at Raj Bhawan Square and Power House Square, respectively.
Sammilani Manchshwar Industrial Estate Branch president Dillip Dashsharma presided over the function, which was attended by senior member Dr Dwarikanath Nath Mohanty, vice-president Sheetal Chandra Mohanty, joint secretary Basanti Tripathy, council member Dr Shiba Prasad Mishra , executive members Prasanna Rath, Niranjan Patra, Akshaya Kumar Jethy, Maheshwar Biswal, Kshetra Mohan Nayak, Sidharta Shankar Gadanyak and Ajay Kanungo.
The Bande Utkal Janani anthem was sung on the occasion.
