The Special Police Establishment (SPE) of the lokayukta caught two clerks posted at State Vetenary Hospital Jehangiabad in the state capital accepting Rs 4000 and Rs 1000 cash to make entry of salary according to the new pay scale. .
According to the DSP lokayukta Naveen Awasthi the accused clerk Manoharlal Maithil and Pawan Batham who were caught accepting bribe of Rs 4000 and Rs 1000 respectively from the victim Assistant Veterinary Officer Vinod Singh .
The victim Assistant Veterinary Officer Vinod Singh approached the two accused Manoharlal Maithil and Pawan Batham enquiring entry of salary according to the revised pay scale during which he was asked to provide money by the two to facilitate the work. The victim decided to lodge a complaint with the Special Police Establishment (SPE) of the lokayukta. The officials told to provide the money on Saturday and laid the trap for the two accused.
On Saturday when the accused Manoharlal Maithil was accepting bribe of Rs 4000 he was caught by lokayukta officials and within few minutes Pawan Batham was caught accepting bribe of Rs 1000.
DSP Naveen Awasthi said that after Manoharlal was caught the action against him was done was not informed to others at the room of another accused Pawan is near Manoharlal’s cabin and soon after Manoharlal was caught Pawan was also caught accepting bribe.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered. Further investigation into the matter has been started.
