The BJP Mahila Morcha, Odisha, launched its two-day mass convention here on Thursday which Morcha national president Vijaya Rahatkar joined as chief guest.
“The country’s development depends on growth of women. The Narendra Modi Government has brought into force many welfare schemes for different categories of people. People in nook and cornor of the people should know about the schemes. Women activists should use social media in this regard,” said Rahatkar.
Earlier, Rahatkar was led to the BJP State head office in a massive scooty rally taken out by women activists. After attending the social media meeting, Rahatkar attended a cooking programme organised under the Ujjwala scheme at Charampa in Bhadrak district.
On Friday, the Morcha’s State office-bearers, district presidents, PRIs and others would join, said State president Pravati Parida.
Among others, former Minister Surama Padhi, State secretary Simantini Jena, general secretary Pratibha Satpathy, vice-president Kananbala Patnaik, Smruti Patnaik, Bijayalaxmi Mohapatra, Aisharaya Biswal, Rashmirekha Das, Babita Patra, Kasturi Mishra and Sujata Padhi were present.
