Taking a serious note of the alleged rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl by a labourer in Shimla Bypass area in Dehradun, the chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) Usha Negi wrote to the Sehaspur police station, seeking detailed information of the case to be submitted to the commission.
Taking cognisance of another alleged rape of two minor girls aged 13 and 16 who had gone missing from Rishikesh after the incident, the commission wrote to the Rishikesh police station, asking the latter to file an FIR and conduct a thorough investigation into the allegation. Furthermore, the chairperson of the commission asked the police station to submit a detailed report of the alleged case to the commission.
