Union Minister of State for Food Processing and Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Fatehpur, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, will be anointed as Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjani Akhara during the Kumbh next month.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti will be conferred the title of Mahamandaleshwar of Panchayati Akhara Niranjani after going through all the religious rituals.
During the rituals, all the mahants of different Akharas would assemble and give her chadars to confer the title of Mahamandaleshwar on her.
Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad president and Niranjani Akhara’s Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj confirmed on Sunday the decision to anoint Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti as Mahamandaleshwar.
He said the rituals would be completed on the bank of Sangam before Makar Sankranti on January 15, when the first Shahi snan (bathing) would be held in Kumbh.
