Meanwhile, members of Bar Council of India (BCI) inspected the facilities at a new building near RU Guest House where a five-year integrated law course will be started. Notably, RU is all set to start a five-year integrated law course from the academic year 2018-19. The team is in Ranchi for two days for inspecting the campus including clearing the major documentation tasks.

“The members of BCI were satisfied with the arrangements. We have got the permission to start the course. Fund has been allocated to us by the State government. All tenders have been done. After informing the State government about the latest development, we will be able to start other facilities like library and other services,” said Pro (VC), Dr. Kamini Kumar who accompanied the BCI team during the inspection.

The legal study course will be started at a double storey building at Morabadi campus having facilities of eight classrooms, one conference hall, a library, a moot court, a legal aid room and a cafeteria including chambers for the director, teachers and other staff members.

According to the sources at the university, a few days back, the Department of Higher and Technical Education had already given the consent for starting the legal studies course after going through the curriculum. According to the officials of RU, within three months, the admission process is expected to get complete. “An advertisement seeking applications for the post of two professors, three associate professors and five assistant professors was published a while ago. Also, the university at present is trying its best to arrange other amenities required for starting the legal study course,” added the Pro (VC).
