Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced another cash reward of Rs 1.5 crore for Odisha-born ace sprinter Dutee Chand, who has brought laurels for the nation and the State by clinching two silver medals at the 18th Asian Games.
Patnaik also announced that the State Government would bear expenses of preparation by the athlete for the next Olympics. An equal amount of cash reward had earlier been announced by the CM when Dutee had won silver medal in the women’s 100-meter event.
She on Wednesday bagged the second silver medal by finishing at second position in the women’s 200-meter race.
