He was addressing the concluding day of a three-day Circle Head Conference of the Department of Post at Jehan Numa Palace hotel on Sunday.
On the concluding day, awards were given to the Circles for their performance on various parameters. Heads of 23 Circles and senior officers from the Postal Directorate participated in the event. Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Railways was the Chief guest on the occasion.
He distributed the awards in various categories. Speaking on the occasion, Sinha appreciated the efforts being made by the Circles and at the same time he emphasized the need for out of box thinking for a better performance. He also released a Philatelic colouring and alphabet book for children.
The circles were categorized as X, Y and Z on the basis of the criteria Group X- Circles having metro city, Group Y- Circles having at least one region except those included in group X and Group Z- circles not having any region.
21 awards were distributed in various categories. The Revenue Excellence Award was given to Delhi Circle (Group X), Odisha Circle (Group Y), Jammu and Kashmir Circle (Group Z).
The PlI/RPlI leader of the Year Award was given to Tamil Nadu Circle (Group X), Bihar Circle (Group Y), Chattisgarh Circle (Group Z), whereas RPlI (Rural Postal life Insurance) was given to Delhi Circle, Madhya Pradesh Circle, and Chattisgarh Circle in (Group X, Y and Z) respectively.
Customer Delight Award was given to Telangana Circle, Andhra Pradesh Circle and Himachal Pradesh Circle in (Group X, Y and Z) respectively.
Innovation of the Year Award was given to BPC,Manipal, Karnataka Circle. Special Achievement Award was given to Maharashtra Circle. Speed Post Revenue Growth Award were given to Maharashtra Circle, West Bengal Circle, Andhra Pradesh Circle, North-East Circle.
Champion Award was given to Delhi Circle, Uttar Pradesh Circle and Haryana Circle in (Group X, Y and Z) respectively.
