The Rama Devi Women’s University stands out in the academic map of India as one of the premier educational institutes of the country. Named after Maa Rama Devi, the great Gandhian freedom fighter from Odisha, the university has always strived to follow her ideologies concerning women’s education and empowerment.
This iconic figure was bom on December 3, 1899 at Satyabhamapur of Cuttack district. As a fitting tribute to the illustrious daughter of the soil, the university was formed and named after her in 2015.
The university is going to celebrate its 4th Foundation Day on December 3 to commemorate the 119th birthday of Rama Devi. Governor and Chancellor of universities Prof Ganeshi Lal would be chief guest of the event, said a university release on Thursday.
Though just four years old, the university has attracted students from across the country.
