Senior Congress leader and party in-charge for Chhattisgarh Pl Punia will undertake a five-day whirlwind tour of the poll-bound Chhattisgargh from Monday to boost party prospects in 90-member Assembly polls slated later this year.
A party statement informed that Punia will reach Raipur on Monday evening and will attend a series of functions nicknamed Rs Shankalp Shivir’ in several districts till May 4.
Congress is holding Shankalp Shivir in all districts to inspire party cadres to take on BJP which is in power in the mineral-rich state since December 2003.
Congress claims that it would return to power in the state this year as people are fed up with the saffron regime. But the BJP says it has delivered on all fronts and pushed development in the State even in remote areas and it would form Government for the fourth successive term.
