The Justice Raghubir Das Commission, probing the missing of Ratna Bhandar keys of the Shreemandir, on Monday directed the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to submit an affidavit by August 7.
The commission conducted its first hearing over the issue at the Special Circuit House here.
However, the hearing remained inconclusive as the SJTA failed to submit details information regarding the issue in the form of an affidavit during the hearing.
The commission directed the SJTA to submit an affidavit in the next hearing slated for August 7.
“Earlier, four affidavits were filed pertaining to the issue.
However, those were not based on any authentic data. Besides, no affidavit was submitted by the Government during today’s hearing for which the the hearing remained incomplete.
I have directed the administration to submit the affidavit first.
The hearing would be conducted after submission of the affidavit and further action would be taken,” Justice Das said to mediapersons.
However, the probe panel had to face criticism from the Jagannath Sena.
Sena convenor Priyadarshan Patnaik, who earlier had submitted an affidavit to the commission, said the commission constituted by the Government is only meant to cover up the dubious role of Puri Collector Arvind Agrawal in the entire episode.
Raising questions over the finding of duplicate keys from the district treasury’s record room, Patnaik charged the Collector with hatching a plan through Niti Administrator Pradip Das of having placed the key in record room to protect himself.
SJTA chief Pradip Mohapatra and district Collector Agrawal and SP Sartak Sarangi were among others were present during the hearing.
