An under-trial prisoner of the Chhatrapur Sub-Jail, who had been admitted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital here died while undergoing treatment on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shivram Pradhan (25), a resident of the Digpahandi area in Ganjam district.
Pradhan had been arrested by police eight months ago for alleged illegal supply of ganja and was lodged in jail. He was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition after he sustained serious injuries when he slipped in the jail bathroom on Sunday morning.
However, the family of Pradhan has raised suspicion over his sudden death.
