Uttara Bahuguna, the teacher, who has sparked a row after she sparred with the Chief Minister during the latter’s Janta Darbar held at his residence, has never got transferred to her desired place Dehradun or even to any easy to access school in Uttarkashi district. It is worth mentioning here that the lady teacher, now in the eye of a storm, is a primary teacher in Uttarkashi and she belongs to district cadre due to which she can get transferred only in the schools located in Uttarkashi district. Incidentally, Bahuguna knows the fact due to which she wanted that she should be sent to Dehradun on attachment. In Uttarkashi district, she figures 59th in the list of teachers desiring transfer to easily accessible school ( Sugam), but this year the department- bounded by clause of only 10 percent transfer in act- would transfer just 12 teachers.
With a similar condition expected to prevail next year also, it is almost certain that 57- year- old teacher would retire from service before being transferred to a Sugam school despite the fact that she is above 55 years of age and is a widow.
