“Elections are not won with mere raising of slogans; but work has to be done. The Bharatiya Janata Party workers have to work for it and have to extend benefits of Government schemes to the people of the State”, exhorted Chief Minister Raman Singh.
He was inaugurating the refurbished BJP’s office Ekatma Parisar here on Monday.
Addressing media persons, Singh said that soon the second phase of Vikas Yatra would be taken out which will showcase the transformation of Chhattisgarh in past 15 years.
The Chief Minister also admonished the contenders for the assembly elections for their show of strength before him as well as in National Capital. “No way such contenders would be allotted the party ticket”, he said.
Singh, further, said as per the party’s action plan, this time there is a target of getting 51% vote share in the upcoming elections by working on the mission 65 plus set by the party’s national leadership.
The BJP workers have been asked to extend all the 11 welfare schemes of the Government and they will work on every booth to ascertain victory of the party for the fourth consecutive term, he said.
Recalling the year 2003, Singh said that time was of anarchy in the State and administrative terrorism was at its extreme. In such an adverse situation, we took pledge of forming Government and took out Parivartan Yatra, he said.
This Ekatma Parisar is lucky for us and three times in a row we succeeded in forming the Government by contesting polls from here. This time too, it would prove to be lucky for us and we will form Government for the fourth term, he added.
Replying to a query why the party was not contesting the polls from the State headquarters Kushabhau Thakre premises, the Chief Minister said “The pitch on which we are consistently playing is well known to us and we are comfortable there if match is played on it.”
