Police to keep tab on New Year revellers

The newly appointed Raipur’s Superintendent of Police Nithu Kamal claimed on Sunday that police would keep a close tab on New Year revellers and would also take stern action in cases related to drink-and-drive.

Kamal while talking to media persons told “the crowed areas of the city has been split into several sectors and it would be our priority that the new-year’s-eve passes off in city peacefully’’. She further informed that police would ensure that liquor cannot get served after 10.30 p.m. at bar and restaurants.

Kamal had assumed office as the first lady SP of Raipur district on Saturday and later she presided over a meeting of senior officials in which the traffic situation in the city was reviewed. She stated that streamlining traffic system in city was on her agenda.
