In the wake of upcoming Assembly polls in the State, Mahasamund Police is carrying out extensive search operations of suspected vehicles.
The police on Thursday succeeded in seizing cash worth Rs 24 lakh from a suspected car.
Earlier too, police had seized Rs 64 lakh and Rs 87.5 lakh during their search operations and thus amounting to be a total of Rs 1.575 Crores in a period of around a week.
Police sources informed that on Thursday during their extensive checking seized Rs 24 lakh from a suspected vehicle bearing a registration no OD 03 C 1351.
During interrogation, the vehicle owners laxminarayan Agrawal and Pawan Agrawal failed to give satisfactory answer about the cash and thus the Station House Officer, Pithora after seizing the amount is taking necessary action including the investigation about the amount seized, police said.
Notably, earlier too, Tendukona Police of the district seized Rs 46 lakh from a Car during their operation on August 18 and Singhoda police of district seized Rs 87.50 lakh during their operation on Tuesday last.
