Raipur Crime Branch Police on Sunday succeeded in arresting a key accused allegedly operated Indian Premier league (IPl) betting gang in Chhattisgarh.
Sunil Agrawal who is described as kingpin of the betting racket was arrested along with his assistant Pincoo from Rajnandgaon. Police say that Sunil and his aide had close connections with Mohsin, the mastermind of the betting racket who was arrested recently by the police in Mumbai.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, M. l Ahirwar informed that the accused Sunil fell to police net on Sunday after he remained elusive for weeks. The police had seized 7 mobiles, 2 laptops, 1 television and 70,000 cash from their custody.
Police after arresting Sunil is thoroughly interrogating him and is trying to get information about his business connections in betting as well as his other alleged illegal business activities.
