Tourism and Culture Minister of State (Independent Charge) Surendra Patwa reviewed the progress of the ongoing work of converting Minto Hall into an International Convention Centre.
While reviewing the works Patwa asked the officials concerned to complete the work of renovation with the quality and in time. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Tourism Hari Ranjan Rao was also present on this occasion.
It is to be noted that one of the historical buildings of the city Minto Hall is being renovated as the International Convention Center International with an estimated expenditure of Rs 70 crore. For this, works on the preservation and conservation of its original form was done.
The capacity of the convention centre is approximately 1200 persons. Currently, the work of air-conditioned lift and internal and external electrification work is in full swing.
Notable, the original paintings on the walls of the Minto Hall ie Zardozi painting is done in all the rooms, halls and interior of the building. The landscaping work has been completed in about 5 acres of area. Currently about 500 workers are engaged in the renovation of Minto Hall.
Expressing his content over the progress of the ongoing renovation work Patwa instructed the officials to complete the work on given time. Surendranath Patwa and Hari Ranjan Rao reviewed the entire premises inspecting the renovation work. They were informed by the officials that along with the main hall, a media room, auditorium and a committee room will also be established at convention centre. The convention hall will be equipped with latest audio-video system, fire fighting and modern air conditioners.
MD of state tourism development T Illaiya Raja, Chief Engineer KPS Rana, Executive Engineer Rajiv Shrivastava and other officials were present.
Meanwhile, Patwa reviewed the activities of Tourism Board meeting. He was informed that initiative is taken to produce employment opportunities for the youngsters in the field of hotels and hospitality through tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
About 15,000 youths have been employed through Job Fair in different locations. BBA in Hotels and Tourism Course has been started. From next year, the courses of Hotel Management and BBA in Tourism will begin.
Principal Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao told that instructions have been given to prepare the proposal for land allotment for tourism hotels and resorts in Bhojpur and Bhimbetaka. light and sound show will begin the famous temples of Bhojpur.
