Passengers panic as smoke found in B'pur train

Friday, 31 August 2018 | PNS | BRAHMAPUR

Panic gripped the passengers of the Villupuram–Kharagpur Express after smoke was detected billowing out from a battery box of an AC coach of the train at the Brahmapur railway station on Thursday.

Reports said the smoke emanated from the battery box of an AC III-tier coach of the express train before it reached the railway station.

However, railways staffs swung into action at the station and averted further damage as they removed the battery box from the coach.

The train left towards its destination after a halt of about 40 minutes at the railway station.
